Alissa Turney
Alissa Turney went missing in 2001, at just 17 years old, in Phoenix Arizona. It is widely believed that her step father Michael is responsible for Alissa’s disappearance, despite the fact that he has never been convicted of the crime. Alissa’s sister Sarah Turney has been particularly vocal on the case and firmly believes Michael is responsible for Alissa’s dissapearance. Today, Sarah maintains a true crime podcast called Voices for Justice.

Maura Murray
The disappearance of Maura Murray is one of the most well-known true crime cases of all time. This case always hit close to home for me because, well, it happened close to home. Maura went missing in New Hampshire, the state where I grew up, and she attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, a school several of my friends also attended. Granted, Maura went missing in 2004 when I was still in elementary school, but it didn’t change the fact that something tragic happened within my supposedly safe little bubble. One of the most intriguing aspects of this case is the fact that we still aren’t entirely sure if something sinister happened to Maura or if she went missing on purpose in order to start a new life. There have been several recent updates in the case as police, and her family, remain hopeful.

The DELPHI Murders
Abigail Williams and Liberty German went missing on February 13, 2017 from the Monon High Bridge in Carroll County Indiana. The case attracted national attention due to an interesting clue left by the victims themselves. One of the girls posted a photo to Snapchat just moments before their disappearance. In the photo an unidentified, mysterious man is shown walking towards the girls and it is believed that this man may be responsible for the murder of both girls.
