My Northern Charm

Sharing your all-time favorite beauty products is a timeless tradition, and sleepover classic. There are simply far too many products out there for one individual to try- so we each do our own research and then report back to base. I’ve got over a decade of experience in this area and I’m reporting back in the form of a blog post, to share with you my favorite beauty products. These are the products I’m always reaching for, and always raving about. These self-care essentials withstand the test of time and remain consistently excellent, even as newer products emerge in the market. Let me know if you also enjoy any of my favorite beauty products, or suggest some of your own!

I also dedicated an entire page for calling out my favorite products, movies, YouTube channels, podcasts, and more. So if you want to check out more things I love, click the button below:

My All-Time Favorite Beauty Products

I’m not the first person on the internet to rave about this and I certainly won’t be the last. I can safely say this is a beauty CLASSIC and is a staple for my makeup collection. I have purchased the other Naked palettes over the years, (Click here to view the rest of the Naked line) but in my opinion- nothing beats this one. It is the first in the line of Urban Decay’s NAKED palettes, and features an arrangement of dramatic warm tones, and dazzling shimmers. My favorite shadow in the palette would have to be Sidecar, followed closely by Half-Baked. I like this palette so much because it contains the perfect selection of shadows, in my opinion. When I’m not in the mood for a drastic smokey eye, I can choose from the more subdued options like Naked or Sin. The shade Virgin brightens up my eyes perfectly, so sometimes I’ll just dust some of that in my inner corners and run out the door.

I was given a full size tube as a free gift from Ulta during my birthday month, and since it was a free gift I didn’t have any expectations for the product. I was INSTANTLY impressed.  This mascara does a great job of separating your lashes, and providing amazing length. The wand is simple and doesn’t overload with product. I hate mascara wands that clump up on the end and created a huge mess. Thankfully, I’ve never had that problem with Tarte’s Man Eater. I’ve since repurchased this product, and I was pleasantly surprised by the $23 price tag. Compared to some other designer mascaras on display at Sephora and Ulta, I was happy to pay $23 for a product that works this well! I think this will remain one of favorite beauty product for a very long time.

I am an avid user of liquid eyeliner. I have this theory that every group of friends has at least one person that knows how to apply liquid eyeliner- so that they can help out the rest of the group in times of need. It can be pretty tricky to apply that perfectly thin, curved, structured line on both eyes so some people shy away from using liquid formula. If you’re looking to improve your skills, I can’t recommend this product enough. The applicator is a good weight and thickness so it feels comfortable in your hand and allows you to get a good, solid grip. The tip is similiar to an art marker  or calligraphy pen, and it somehow always dispenses the perfect amount of product. It also seems to last FOREVER without drying out. It’s a win-win-win situation.

I used to be a huge advocate for using Men’s gel stick deodorant because it was cheap and never rubbed off on my clothing. Eventually I started noticing some redness and bumps forming under my arms, so I decided to look for a gentler (and slightly more “upscale” deodorant). That’s when I came across this Dove clear finish antiperspirant. It is a bit more expensive than I normally care to spend on something like this, but I figured I’d be worth it if it relieved some of the redness. Not only does this product do a great job at keeping me smelling fresh all day (even in this hot Texas air), but it also smells great, AND it took care of the rash under my arms. It is advertised as “Invisible” but I do occasionally find myself with white marks on my clothing. It’s not a constant problem, but it is something that I’ve noticed with this product. The occasional white marks aren’t enough of an issue for me to stop using it though- I’m hooked!

I am a self proclaimed LUSH ultra-fan and I’m proud of it. I’ve always had a good experience in the stores. The employees are very helpful, but not too pushy or overwhelming. This Ocean Salt scrub is one of my all-time favorite products from the brand, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. The smell is incredible, and the exfoliating salt is gentle yet effective. I find that whenever I use this scrub in the shower, it makes my entire bathroom smell great for HOURS afterwards. If you’re looking for a natural body exfoliate that smells divine and doesn’t leave a gross sticky residue, then I highly recommend this LUSH product…ASAP!

This product will always win points with me simply because its so versatile. If I don’t want to bring a ton of products with me on an overnight trip, this item is key! It serves multiple purposes, and works incredibly well in my opinion- what’s not to like? It is a lip tint and cheek stain- but I’ve also heard of people using it to make their own nail polish too! Ninety percent of the time I’m using it as a lip tint because it lasts forever and doesn’t my lips feeling sticky like a gloss or lipstick would. It is smudge-free and creates a really beautiful rosy hue on my skin. I use it as a cheek stain, in place of blush, whenever I’m trying to consolidate products. It’s great because I can just apply a few dots to my cheek bone and blend with my finger. No need for blush palettes and brush sets!
