Technically, This is an early summer update, but mentally I’m still stuck in March. I can’t help but feel like summer has just been cancelled, because this season just did not arrive with the same fanfare and excitement like it used to. Given the current situation regarding COVID-19, time moves a bit differently than normal so I haven’t really caught up to the fact that we moved past Spring. That being said, I still wanted to deliver an early summer update because I have a few new obsessions that I’m excited to share. If you enjoy this early summer update, be sure to check out my update from May
What I'm Wearing This Month
Death Before Decaf Coffee Unisex Pullover (PYKNIC)
I’ve had my eye on this sweater for at least a year, and something always brought my mind back to it. When you’re still thinking about an article of clothing a year later, you KNOW it’s a good choice. The artwork, the quote, the QUALITY, everything about this pullover is top notch. (Not Sponsored! I just genuinely love this sweater!)

Ribbed Square-Neck Cropped Top (Banana Republic)
This top ended up being very different than I expected, but I’m certainly not complaining. It could just be my particular body shape but this top is much more cropped than I expected, and the sleeves are constantly shifting into more of an off-the-shoulder look. That being said, I still wore it to work on a casual Friday without scandalizing the whole office. Granted, I did wear it with some high rise jeans to ensure I wasn’t showing off the tummy! Typically I’d probably reserve this for a weekend outfit. The color is so vibrant and unique, you’re guaranteed to turn heads when you enter a room.
If you want one for yourself, act fast- It’s available for under $30 at Banana Republic, Click Here. *Not Sponsored!*
What I'm Reading This Month
Inside Out (A Memoir) by Demi Moore
After listening to a few really powerful interviews of Demi Moore, I was interested in learning more about her life. From what I know so far, she had a really troubled childhood and her (very public) marriage to Ashton Kutcher made her question her self worth. Every early summer update needs to include a good book, so I’m really looking forward to this one and I’ll be sure to give an update once I’m done.
What I'm Watching This Month
(Comedy/Drama- Movie- Available on Amazon Video)
I’ve been a huge fan of Pete Davidson since 2014 when he first appeared on SNL so I’m a bit bias- but I really enjoyed this movie. The fact that it was directed by the incredible Judd Apatow should carry some weight as well. The film is loosely based on his life, and focuses heavily on his complicated relationship with his hometown of Staten Island. Even if you’re not already a crazed fan like myself I think this film will offer some insight into the events that shaped this fascinating and complex artist. (I rented this film through Amazon Video for $19.99 but it is also available through Xfinity, Apple TV, Fandago Now, Vudu, and Google Play )
(Comedy- Adult Animation- TV Series- Available on Hulu)
I just started this series recently and it is incredibly unique in style. It was made by the producers of Robot Chicken, so if you’ve enjoyed RC content in the past you’ll probably love this series. I still haven’t figured out exactly HOW this animation was made because it looks like a stop motion but also….not at all. It’s a very fun, playful watch that will offer some variation to the adult animation format.
(Competition Reality TV- Available on Netflix and Hulu)
I’ll be honest, this isn’t normally the type of show that I enjoy watching. My boyfriend is a classic Texas outdoors man, so he immediately gravitated towards this show. I became enthralled fairly quickly because the people on this show are SO unlike anyone I’ve ever met before. This Netflix series chronicles the experience of individuals trying to survive in some of the world’s harshest conditions with very limited resources. The last person standing (without tapping out) wins a large cash prize. The specific locations, conditions, and rules change depending on which season of the show you’re watching, but the general concept is the same. You’re watching brave people fight for their lives in the middle of nowhere. Is it sick that I find this entertaining? I don’t know- but if you’re interested you can watch the series right now on both Netflix and Hulu. (Netflix only features Season 6, while Hulu offers Seasons 3 through 6. I have heard from several people that season 6 is the best one to watch though.)
(Reality TV Series- Available on Hulu and TLC Go)
If you don’t typically enjoy TLC shows, then this one might not be your cup of tea. Welcome to Plathville is a classic TLC reality show that follows an unconventional family- we’ve seen this format before. Similar to 19 Kids and Counting/Counting On, this series features a religious family unit living in Georgia- except this family makes the Duggars look mainstream. (I mean no disrespect to either family) The Plath family, consisting of 9 children and 2 parents, abide by the Quiverfull lifestyle (a movement within Christianity- Click here to read an article from Cosmo to learn more about Quiverfull) The Plath children are no allowed to drink soda or watch TV. One of the oldest children
